INTRO: Greetings everybody. I am so excited for the snow, I just can‘t hold it in. I want to share with all you my personal opinion on this storm. I still face my concussion symptoms, but feel it is my duty to report to you all about our incoming storm. It is honor to forecast for you all. Enjoy and please excuse any/all grammar issues. Thank you…

ALERT: A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect, for Northern and Southern Berkshire County, beginning at 4:00 PM this afternoon (Saturday January 6th) and going until 7:00 PM tomorrow evening (Sunday January 7th).

A separate Winter Storm Warning will for into effect, for Bennington County, beginning 7:00 PM this evening (Saturday January 6th) and going until 7:00 PM tomorrow evening (Sunday January 7th).

TIMING: Some snow could start falling today across the area during the day today. The further south you live means the earlier the snow will start for you. Southern Berkshire County will likely face it first, while some spots in Bennington County might not begin until this evening.

It is looking like a steady snow will continue between tonight and into tomorrow morning. This snow might even fall heavily at 1-inch per hour intensities. Snow should begin to lighten up throughout tomorrow. All snow should end by Monday morning.

Totals: This is going to be a big snowstorm. Actually, the first snowstorm for us this new year! I feel confident a solid 6 inches will fall throughout the entire region. The average amounts should be 8 to 12 inches. The low end is looking like 6 to 8 inches. The lower totals will likely be for the Western parts of the Berkshires and Bennington County. The highest amounts seem to be 12 to 15 inches, probably in the Eastern parts of the area.

Extra Details: It is important to note, the snow will likely be somewhat fluffier, though, with my concussion, I am not sure what to think. That being said, for this forecast, truly take it with a grain of salt, my mind is not perfect, so the low end and high end amounts are each possible.

Hazards: It is definitely going to be dangerous and likely difficult to drive during this. Roads will likely be covered in snow, as temperatures should stay below freezing for most of us. Some gusty winds are also possible, so visibility could also be limited. If the snow decides to be fluffier, then blowing and drifting snow might also be a concern.

Closing Statement: Please be safe everyone. I wish you all the best, and hope for the most snow possible. I won‘t be posting regularly. I just felt this is an occasion where I had luckily some more energy and felt it is a matter of public safety over personal health. Thank you all for reading. Have a great weekend. Cheers everyone!
