Forecast: Today will be partly to mostly sunny. Scattered showers and thunderstorms north of Pittsfield with isolated showers from and south of Pittsfield. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Lows will be in the lower 60s.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny. Highs in the low to mid 80s. Lows in the mid 60s. Patchy fog in the morning.

Then on Tuesday we can expect mostly sunny and hot conditions. Highs in the upper 80s. Lows in the upper 60s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms south of Pittsfield possible. 
 
Air quality forecast: Today has scattered pockets of moderate air and tomorrow has widespread pockets of moderate air. This means it is ok to go outside however if you are very sensitive you may cough, have an itchy throat or may get dizzy. 

Tropical: We have three areas to watch. 

1. An area of low pressure east of the Windward Islands that has disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity will move west. As it moves west is may develop into a tropical depression. I give it a medium chance to develop.

2. An area of low pressure midway between the Lesser Antilles and Cabo Verde Islands has become slightly better organized. As it move southwest or west it may become a tropical depression. I give it a medium chance of development.

3. A broad area of low pressure west of the Cabo Verde Islands has lost it’s shower and thunderstorm activity. Upper level winds, dry air, and cool ocean temperatures will favor in no more development. I give it a little to no chance of development. 

Rain: Today we will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. You will have more showers and thunderstorms the farther north you are. If you live south of Pittsfield you may get nothing other than an isolated shower. For this week we have isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms each day in the afternoon.  

UV and light index: Today will be partly to mostly sunny so put on your sunscreen and sun lotion. I give you about 2 hours and a half to burn if you are in direct sunlight with no protection.

Wind: 5 miles per hour.

Hazards: Some minor flooding may occur in the northern most parts of the Berkshires.

Notable amounts: No notable amounts of precipitation.

Far forecast: This week will be partly sunny with showers and thunderstorms. Next week will be warmer and slightly humid with more widespread showers and thunderstorms. The week after next week will be warm and humid, with some rain or showers possible.

Heat Index: Today and later this week  will be very hot and humid. Drink water and if you feel you are getting too hot go somewhere cooler. Heat index values will near the criteria for heat advisory’s.
