Welcome: Good morning. Today will be a briefing on the storm we will be in. Some weather changes have been made to the forecast. Warmer air is expected to reach further north than expected but we still have some of winter’s power in this storm…

Alert: Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9:00 AM today to 7:00 AM Sunday for all of Berkshire County.

Timing: This morning the storm should start as snow or sleet for many, by this afternoon and evening a change to sleet, freezing rain, or rain is expected from south to north. Then late tonight the precipitation will end as snow.

Snow: Snow could fall up to a half an inch per hour. I expect between a coating to 4 inches of snow. The higher amounts will be the farther north, or the higher in elevation.

Sleet: Sleet will likely mix in. Some sleet may have already fallen during the morning, but during the afternoon and evening sleet will be more likely.

Freezing Rain: Freezing rain will also be part of this storm. Freezing rain will primarily fall during the afternoon and evening hours. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice is expected. Though some isolated amounts may reach a quarter of an inch of ice.

Wind: 5 to 10 mph.

Blowing Snow: Not expected.

Hazards Summary: A power outage is possible. Please be cautious on roads, sidewalks, and driveways. Remember: do not run on ice.

Anything Else: I hope you all stay safe. Please comment on what you see, thank you. Have a great day.
