Welcome: Good morning. New trends have caused me to consider the warmer outcome for this storm. However, the colder outcome still remains possible. Bennington County will likely see more snow than Berkshire County in either scenario. If this storm can stay all snow, I will have a lot of shoveling to do…

Alert: A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect, for Northern Berkshire County (Pittsfield and north) and Bennington County, it begins 6:00 PM this evening and goes until 7:00 PM tomorrow night.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect, for Southern Berkshire County (Lenox and south), from 6:00 PM this evening going until 7:00 PM tomorrow night.

A Snow Emergency is in effect for Pittsfield until 7:00 AM Sunday.

Timing: Widespread heavy snow is expected to begin this evening. As the night moves forward some sleet will likely mix in for some. Tomorrow will feature a wintry mix and/or just snow. We all end the event with a few snow showers tomorrow night. Snowfall rates tonight could reach up to 2 inches per hour.

Snow: Widespread snow is likely. I expect 3 to 7 inches of snow for areas south of Pittsfield. For Pittsfield and north I expect 6 to 10 inches of snow. The highest elevations will likely receive 9 to 13 inches of snow.

Information about snow amounts: This storm has much uncertainty as snow amounts are highly dependent on how much sleet falls. The more sleet means the less snow. This storm has the potentials to both overachieve or underachieve.

Sleet: Widespread sleet is likely. Sleet amounts are calculated into snow amounts.

Freezing Rain: Isolated freezing rain is likely. Less than 1/10 of an inch of ice is expected.

Rain: Widespread rain is possible. Little to no rainfall expected.

Thunder: Not expected.

Peak Wind: (Tonight and tomorrow) 15 to 25 mph, with gusts to 45 mph. Coming from the East.

Low Temperatures During the Event: (Tonight) The lower 30s.

High Temperatures During the Event: (Tomorrow) The upper 30s.

Blowing/Drifting Snow: Not expected.

Snow Day Calculator: N/A

Hazards Summary: Roads will be slippery and dangerous. Heavy snow and strong winds could cause tree damage and power outages.

Anything Else: I hope you all stay safe. Please comment and like. Thank you. Have an amazing day. I hope all goes your way. So let today be your very best day. Cheers everyone!
