Happy New Year! I hope the holidays went well for everyone. I apologize for not posting. This is due to my continued concussion. Until I am much better, I still won’t be posting daily. However, I want to open the New Year with this post. It must have been quite the hit, as I am not sure if I recalls telling all of you, I have a double concussion. The front of my brain and the back both got injured.

I have some big news. First, we got a dog. Her name is Emmie and she is two. She is a black lab mix. The mix might be from Pit Bull. The dog really helps. When I fall, she runs over to help me up, or get attention of my parents. She is the sweetest dog I recall meeting.

Second, my great-grand uncle has reconnected with the family. He is so kind. I thank him for helping with family research, sharing photos, and being so very kind. Thank you Uncle Bill.

Third, I have only been going to school for two hours. This week, we hope to try a full half day. A slow recovery, but I continue to be optimistic. I thank you all for your support and understanding.

Fourth and last but not least, I want to wish all my family members a happy birthday. Many, many, many have birthdays from December to February, with the peak in January. One special one, is, if I am correct, my great-grandma June’s. As we call her, Nana, her birthday is this Friday, January 5th. She turns 102! Happy Birthday.

I hope winter is going well for all of you and continues to. Maybe some snow will come. As I am the Weather Warlock, my concussion is limiting my abilities to control the snow. This weekend might have a surprise. Let’s see.

Cheers everyone!

  4. Jacob is a long-haul. I know that because my son has had two or three very bad concussions and he’s never really fully recovered but he is taking a drug that makes him almost fully normal, is an anti-depressant I will get the name for it he went to a doctor in Boston, but he lives in Wisconsin and there’s crutches you can use when he wants to watch Netflix or Amazon there’s a setting that allows you to close your eyes. You can hear the dialogue and also describes to you what the people look like and what they’re doing so you don’t have to open your eyes , and of course books on tape are wonderful. I’m sorry you’re missing school. That must be very stressful but I’m glad you’ve gotten a dog that can help you and as soon as I get the name of the drug I will send it to you your former neighbor, MARCIA MANDEL

  5. Hi Jacob! Happy New Year! You sound much better. I thought I heard a new dog bark in the neighborhood but I couldn’t figure out from where. Mystery solved! Anyway, I’m sending wishes for your continued recovery.
