Forecast: Today will be mostly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some storms may produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Highs will be in the mid 90s. Lows will be in the lower 70s. Hot and humid as well.
Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with a small chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 90s. Lows in the upper 60s. It will be very humid.
Then on Saturday we can expect partly to mostly sunny conditions. Highs in the lower 80s. Lows in the upper 60s. A small chance of showers in the evening. Cooler and less humid.
Air quality forecast: Today and tomorrow has widespread moderate air. So monitor how you are breathing, this air combined with the excessive heat and humidity may cause trouble breathing.
Tropical: We have two areas to watch.
1. Fred has been downgraded to a tropical depression. This is because of the land interaction with the Dominican Republic. It may approach the Florida Keys by Friday night or Saturday morning. It will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to the southeast. Please alert family or friends about the incoming threat.
2. A tropical wave east of the Lesser Antilles is still disorganized. It may develop into a tropical system later this week. I give it a medium chance of development.
Precipitation: A small to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms this week, 50% chance of precipitation. We also have a chance for heavy showers today.
UV and light index: This week will be sunny very frequently. I would give the time to burn about 2 hours and a half if in direct sunlight with no protection.
Wind: 10 to 15 miles per hour turning to 5 to 10 miles per hour. Gusts of 20 miles per hour.
Hazards: Lightning with thunderstorms, isolated damaging winds, heavy rain, and small hail.
Notable amounts: No notable amounts of precipitation.
Far forecast: This week will be partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Next week will be hot and very dry. The week after next week will be less hot and less dry.
Heat Index: Today and tomorrow will be very hot and humid. If you are hot go inside. Try to reschedule appointments if possible to be inside or another day. Don’t let pets or children be in a hot car alone. Heat is a silent killer, do not be overcome by it. If you have a heat stroke call 911, it is an emergency!
