Welcome: Good morning. Happy Martin Luther King Junior Day. Today will be a briefing-type post. I am finally much better. Thank you for all the well wishes. So far I have gotten 6.8 inches of snow. How much have you gotten? Please comment on the answer, thank you…
Alert: Winter Storm Warning in effect for all of Berkshire County until 10:00 PM tonight.
Timing: Right now it should be windy with snow or a wintry mix for high elevations. However for lower elevations it should be breezy with a wintey mix or plain rain. This afternoon and tonight should turn back to snow and it may fall steadily at times before ending tomorrow morning.
Snow: Widespread snow is expected. You can generally expect 4 to 12 inches in all, maybe less or more depending on your elevation and location.
Sleet: Scattered sleet is expected, sleet accumulations are added into snow accumulation.
Freezing Rain: Scattered freezing rain is expected, I see up to a few hundredths of an inch possible in all.
Wind: 20 to 35 mph, with gusts to 55 mph, expect winds that are on the weaker end of this if you live in lower terrain.
Blowing Snow: Scattered blowing snow is expected.
Hazards Summary: It will be dangerous to travel. Whiteout conditions are expected in a few spots. A few power outages may also occur. Tree branches may break.
Snow Day Calculator: I give a 5% chance of a delay tomorrow.
Anything Else: I hope you all stay safe. Please comment on what you see, thank you. Have an amazing day. I hope all goes your way. So let today be your very best day.
