Welcome: Good morning. Take today to prepare for this long duration snowstorm. This is looking like it could be the strongest snowstorm we have had all year. Alert: A Winter Storm Warning will go into effect, for Berkshire County and Bennington County, from 5:00 PM today going until 8:00 AM Wednesday.

Timing: Scattered rain and snow this morning will become widespread rain this afternoon. During the evening widespread snow and rain can be expected. Tonight heavy snow can be expected which will continue through Tuesday night. Scattered snow on Wednesday, everything is done Wednesday night.

Snow: Widespread wet snow is likely. I expect 1 to 2 feet of wet snow in total. A few in the highest terrain could reach near 3 feet of wet snow.

Sleet: Not expected. 

Freezing Rain: Not expected.

Rain: Widespread rain is likely. Little to no rainfall expected.

Thunder: Not expected.

Peak Wind: (Wednesday) 15 to 35 mph, with gusts to 50 mph. Coming from the Northwest.

Low Temperatures During the Event: (Tonight) The lower to mid 30s.

High Temperatures During the Event: (Tuesday) The lower to mid 30s.

Blowing/Drifting Snow: Isolated blowing/drifting snow is expected.

Snow Day Calculator: 92% chance of a snow day tomorrow.

Hazards Summary: Roads will be dangerous to impossible to drive on. Widespread tree damage and power outages are possible. Snowfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour at times. Low visibility is also likely. Take breaks while shoveling and drink lots of water, this will help your body from being strained. Do any last preparations this morning.
