Welcome: Good morning. This storm is going pretty strong so far. At some point during the night I lost power. However, it has been regained. I have learned there are about 2,000 Eversource customers without power in just Pittsfield. I have a bit of tree damage too. So far I have received about 1 foot of snow…

Alert: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect, for Berkshire County and Bennington County, until 8:00 AM tomorrow.

A Local Travel Advisory is in effect for Pittsfield today. The city is recommending to stay off the road unless it is an emergency.

A Snow Emergency is in effect for Pittsfield until 7:00 PM tomorrow.

Timing: Widespread heavy snow is expected throughout today and tonight. Scattered snow is expected throughout the day tomorrow.

Snow: Widespread wet snow is likely. I expect 1 to 2 feet of wet snow in total. A few in the highest terrain could reach near 3 feet of wet snow.

Sleet: Not expected.

Freezing Rain: Not expected.

Rain: Not expected.

Thunder: Not expected.

Peak Wind: (Tomorrow) 20 to 30 mph, with gusts to 45 mph. Coming from the Northwest.

High Temperatures During the Event: (Today) The lower to mid 30s.

Low Temperatures During the Event: (Tonight) The upper 20s to lower 30s.

Blowing/Drifting Snow: Scattered blowing/drifting snow is expected.

Snow Day Calculator: I am not sure what to say, if enough infrastructure is damaged or if it really does snow through the night, delays and snow days are possible tomorrow.

Hazards Summary: Roads will be dangerous to impossible to drive on. Widespread tree damage and power outages are expected. Snowfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour at times. Low visibility is also likely. Take breaks while shoveling and drink lots of water, this will help your body from being strained.
