A Local Travel Advisory is in effect for Pittsfield today. The city is recommending to stay off the road unless it is an emergency.
A Snow Emergency is in effect for Pittsfield until 7:00 PM tomorrow.
Timing: Widespread heavy snow is expected throughout today and tonight. Scattered snow is expected throughout the day tomorrow.
Snow: Widespread wet snow is likely. I expect 1 to 2 feet of wet snow in total. A few in the highest terrain could reach near 3 feet of wet snow.
Sleet: Not expected.
Freezing Rain: Not expected.
Rain: Not expected.
Thunder: Not expected.

Low visibility is also likely. Take breaks while shoveling and drink lots of water, this will help your body from being strained.
