Welcome: Good morning. In total I got about 8 or 9 inches of snow depending on the area I measured. I also noticed some tree damage and I briefly had a power outage. We have another storm coming in, but this one will likely be not all snow. There is a chance that some in Bennington County see mostly snow, but it looks like even there some rain should mix in…

Sunday/January/22/2023

Welcome: Good morning. We have a potential major storm about to impact us. The key question is: can temperatures stay below freezing the whole event? I am pretty certain that for at least some, temperatures will stay below freezing. To quote the song, “Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow.” Here are the details below…

Saturday/January/21/2023

Welcome: Good afternoon. This forecast is for the potential storm that will impact us tomorrow night. I am currently very interested to see how Sunday night and Wednesday night play out. For each event there is a chance of warmer air getting into the region. So, we will have to see if either of them are all snow or not…

Alert: A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect, for Bennington County, from 4:00 PM tomorrow going until 1:00 PM Monday.

Timing: A mix of rain and snow will begin tomorrow afternoon and continue through Monday afternoon. If you live in higher elevations you will see more snow than rain.

Snow: Widespread snow is likely. Most should receive 2 to 4 inches of snow in total. However some in high elevations should reach 8 inches of snow.

Sleet: Not expected.

Freezing Rain: Not expected.

Friday/January/20/2023

Welcome: Good morning. So far this storm has gone right on track for me. I received an icy mix last night and now some snow is falling. It is a little slippery, so be careful as there is a layer of slushy partially frozen ice below the snow. The new big question is: will Sunday night and Wednesday night be too warm for heavy snow accumulations? We will have to see…

Alert: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect, for both Berkshire and Bennington County, going until 7:00 PM tonight.

Timing: Currently it should be snowing for most. As we continue through the day snow will fall steadily at times. However once we hit the afternoon snow will begin to mix with rain. All precipitation should be done by late tonight.

Snow: Widespread snow is likely. Most should receive 2 to 4 inches of snow in total. However some in high elevations should reach 6 inches of snow.

Sleet: Not expected.

Freezing Rain: Not expected.

Rain: Scattered rain is likely. Rainfall should not exceed one inch in total.

Thunder: Not expected.

Thursday/January/19/2023

Welcome: Good morning. We have many canons firing all at once. We have a winter event expected tomorrow, a snowstorm Sunday night, and another storm Wednesday. Much uncertainty is remaining about tomorrow’s winter event, this is because if temperatures change just a few degrees the whole storm will be impacted…

Alert: A Winter Weather Advisory is going into effect, for both Berkshire and Bennington County, starting 11:00 AM today and going until 7:00 PM tomorrow.

Also, I do know a Snow Emergency has been issued for Pittsfield.

Timing: A wintry mix will develop this afternoon that will mainly consist of rain, snow, and sleet. This evening will have a wintry mix of snow, rain, sleet, and freezing rain. As we move into the night a wintry mix of freezing rain, snow, and rain is possible. Tomorrow should be a mix of rain and snow. By tomorrow night precipitation should have ended.

Snow: Widespread snow is likely. Most of us should receive 2 to 4 inches of snow. Some in the valleys may get only a coating, while others in the mountains could reach 6 inches.

Sleet: Scattered to widespread sleet is likely. Sleet amounts are calculated into snowfall amounts.

Freezing Rain: Scattered freezing rain is likely. Most should only reach up to one tenth of an inch (0.1) of ice, but a few could reach near two tenths of an inch (0.2) of ice.

Rain: Widespread rain is likely. Rainfall should not exceed one inch.

Thunder: Not expected.

Peak Wind: 5 to 10 mph. Coming from the East.

Blowing/Drifting Snow: Not expected.

Snow Day Calculator: N/A (Two many scenarios are at play for me to give an accurate snow day prediction.) I would say delays are probably the most likely.

Hazards Summary: Roads will be slippery for the duration of the event. Though precipitation may calm down in the very early hours of Friday morning, you all must remember that it will pick back up in intensity towards the 7:00 or 8:00 AM timeframe.

Anything Else: I hope you all stay safe. Please comment and like. Thank you. Have an amazing day. I hope all goes your way. So let today be your very best day. Cheers everyone!
