Wednesday/February/23/2022

Welcome: Good morning. Today will be a briefing-type post. Our storm is going to have big impacts across the Northeast and New England. Right now it looks like one storm that will not be very strong. However, we will have to watch if this storm gets stronger than expected or if a second storm forms…

Alert: A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for all of Berkshire County from 10:00 PM tomorrow (Thursday) to 10:00 PM that day after tomorrow (Friday).

Timing: It seems that snow will start for all sometime Thursday night. It may turn into sleet if you are south of the Mass Pike during Friday morning. However, there is still uncertainty about the sleet. All in all, snow will fall heavily for most of the event. It all ends Friday night.

Snow: Widespread snow is expected, with 6 to 12 inches of snow accumulation.

Sleet: Isolated sleet is possible, sleet amounts are part of snow amounts.

Freezing Rain: Not expected.

Peak Wind: 5 to 15 mph, with gusts to 35 mph, coming from the East.

Blowing/Drifting Snow: Isolated blowing and drifting snow is possible.

Hazards Summary: It will be very dangerous to travel. This could be the biggest widespread snow event this winter. Please bring emergency supplies if you are driving on side roads.

Snow Day Calculator: Not available.

Anything Else: I hope you all stay safe. Please comment and like, thank you. Have an amazing day. I hope all goes your way. So let today be your very best day. Cheers everyone!

Welcome: Good morning. I am visiting my great-grandma who is 100 and I will have to do a shorter report today and likely tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy it as this is a briefing on our upcoming snowstorm…

Alert: None yet.

Timing: Depending on if a second storm starts or how far our first storm goes it will likely be all snow. Snow starts late Thursday night and will fall heavily. There is a chance for a wintry mix Friday morning but it seems unlikely at this time. All snow and wintry mix end Friday night.

Snow: Widespread snow is expected. This is a rough forecast so take it with a grain of salt. I expect 6 to 12 inches of snow.

Sleet: Isolated sleet is possible, sleet amounts are part of snow amounts.

Freezing Rain: Very isolated freezing rain is possible, up to a light glaze is expected.

Peak Wind: 5 to 15 mph, coming from the Northeast.

Blowing Snow: Not expected.

Hazards Summary: It will be very dangerous to travel. This could be the biggest widespread snow event this winter. I will keep you updated.

So pretty much severe weather of the winter.
